Every year the foundation hosts a picnic to raise money for projects. Starting in 2008, the picnic has been held at the Henrys Lake State Park. It is a great opportunity to meet other members and find out the latest status of all our project work. An annual election of officers and board members also occurs at the event. There is hundreds of fishing related items contributed to the silent auction. There are also plenty of baked goods for sale. Some years, we also have live auctions, it all depends on what is donated. Lunch is catered and usually consists of BBQ beef or pork, potato salad or coleslaw along with a selection of soft drinks. Lunch tickets are sold to cover the costs of the food and equipment rental. In addition to it just being a really fun event, the real focus of the picnic is to drive new membership. After all, our membership is what provides us a strong basis upon which to sponsor projects.
We are always seeking donations for this event. If you have any fishing related items you would like to contribute please send us an email. All of your donations are tax deductible pursuant to IRS rules governing charitable contributions.
This event was started in 2007 and was so well received it has become an annual event. It includes live music and an authentic chuck wagon BBQ. It is held at the Slocum residence at Pintail Point, just off of Henrys Lake Road. This event features a live auction and is consistently our single largest fund raising event. Dinner tickets can be purchased at the event. Wine, beer and other refreshments are included in the price of the dinner. The menu usually consists of country ribs, chicken, grilled vegetables, potato salad, coleslaw, and homemade bread for dinner and apple cobbler for desert. We usually feature wines from a couple of stand-out wineries in California. To say the least, everyone loves this event!
Similar to the picnic, we are always seeking donations for the live auction at the dinner. If you have any fishing related items you would like to contribute please send us an email. All of your donations are tax deductible pursuant to IRS rules governing charitable contributions.
